BAGA BEACH IN GOA

Towards the north end of Calangute is situated the Baga beach. Baga beach is an option for those who want to be away from the hustle-bustle found on the other beaches.

Baga beach looks as if it has come alive out of a painting. Majestic white waves rushing to wipe out the feet imprints left by you on the sand while the wind continues to flirt with the palm trees.

The Baga beach is more of a fishing beach with the tourists from across the world trying to get that big catch while getting drenched in the sun. There is the grove of palms that comes fairly close to the water's edge at the Baga beach.

The Baga River flows down one side of it offering a pleasant diversion for children and those who love the water but can't risk the rip currents that swirl round the mouth. Where the river and the sea meet, and on the far right bank, tourists at Baga beach will see a group of black rocks against which the sea crashes. Tourists at Baga beach may even spot fishermen returning with their catch early in the morning.

Tourists planning their vacation in Goa have plenty of accommodation options at Baga beach. There are many guesthouses and hotels in Baga and nearby Calangute. Those planning a longer vacation in Goa should look out for houses that are to be let out.

How to reach
The nearest airport is at Dabolim, which is 29 km away from Panaji. Panaji is just half an hour's drive away from Baga. The nearest railway station is at Karmali 11 km away from Panaji. Panaji is just half an hour's drive away from Calangute.

Baga beach is about ten minutes from Mapusa, and thirty minutes from the state capital, Panaji. There are frequent buses to Panaji and Mapusa from Baga and Calangute. Most buses from Panaji terminate at Calangute and a few trudge further on up to Baga. Mapusa is around 8 km away from Baga.
